Engraved Coast-To-Coast
Today, I'm excited to share with you my recent product photography project featuring stunning Boho Mandala Coasters. As a product photographer, I find joy in capturing the intricate details and unique qualities of each item, and this project was no exception. Join me as I take you through my process of bringing these beautiful coasters to life through the lens.
Setting the Stage:
Every great photo starts with a carefully curated setting. For this project, I wanted to evoke a sense of warmth and coziness, so I chose a wooden table as the backdrop. To add texture and visual interest, I scattered coffee beans around the coasters and placed a mug on one of them. These elements not only complemented the bohemian aesthetic of the coasters but also added depth to the composition.
Finding the Right Angle:
Once the stage was set, it was time to find the perfect angle to capture the coasters in all their glory. I experimented with different perspectives, focusing on highlighting the intricate mandala designs while ensuring that the overall composition felt balanced and visually appealing. Through trial and error, I discovered angles that accentuated the details of the coasters while also showcasing the surrounding elements.
Playing with Light:
Lighting is key in product photography, as it can dramatically affect the mood and ambiance of the final image. For this project, I opted for soft, natural light streaming in from a nearby window, to add warmth and depth to the photos, along with aperture lights to make dramatic shadows.
Capturing the Moment:
With everything in place, it was time to bring out the camera and start shooting. I took my time to carefully frame each shot, adjusting settings and compositions as needed to ensure that every image told a compelling story. I focused on close-up shots highlighting the intricate details of the coasters.
Bringing it All Together:
After the shoot was complete, I reviewed the photos and selected the best ones to edit and share with the client. Using Lightroom Classic, I fine-tuned the colors, contrast, and sharpness of each image, ensuring that they looked polished and professional. Finally, I delivered the final images to the client, knowing that they would serve as a beautiful representation of their stunning Boho Mandala Coasters.
Closing Thoughts:
Product photography is a blend of art and technique, requiring careful attention to detail and a creative eye for composition. Through thoughtful planning, experimentation, and collaboration with the client, I was able to bring their vision to life and create images that truly showcase the beauty and craftsmanship of their products.
